WHAT:
What a crazy name, verITableLIFE. You are probably wondering how the name came to be. Well it all started by browsing through Dictionary.com’s Word of the Day archive, looking for the perfect word including the letters ‘it’. I decided to look in my favorite months first, September and May (the month I was born and my girlfriend); lucky for me those were the only two months I needed to search. I got to stop on May 19th, 2007 when I found exactly what I was looking for, the root of verITableLIFE. Lets break it down: this is really 3 words in one.
1) Veritable [ver-i-tuh-buh
l] – Being truly so called; real or genuine.
2) IT – Information technology.
3) LIFE -I hope I don’t need to explain this one.
This name encompassed the exact message that I wanted to portray to my readers, “A Real IT Life”; and being that I am an IT Professional, the name also was an available URL address! So verITableLIFE was born.
WHY:
Modern day technology can be overwhelming. Everything is always newer, bigger (or smaller), faster and to some people scary. Technology is something that I feel everyone should embrace and use everyday. Technology is going to keep moving forward and hopefully people will do their best to keep up with it. Because technology is continuously evolving, I hope to encourage people to look at new ways of doing thing, and vice versa.
HOW:
There’s no need to reinvent the wheel, sometimes the best way to learn or try something is by modeling what others have done. VerITableLIFE is about growing up with and using technology in today’s world through the eyes of an IT professional. I hope you will be able to use these experiences to grow.
